Meet Corolla’s Newest Floating Oasis
Operated by our close neighbors at Coastal Explorations, this custom-built, 50-foot floating tiki boat is the newest Coast Guard-inspected vessel on the Currituck Sound. Offering an incredibly smooth, comfortable, and spacious ride, it has plenty of room to sit back, feel the breeze, and take in the panoramic views.
Whether you want to unwind after a day on the beach or give the kids an adventure they’ll talk about all year, there is a cruise tailored just for you:
- The Tiki Sunset Cruise: Pour your favorite beverage, play some music, and watch the legendary Outer Banks sunset paint the sky in fiery shades of orange, pink, and purple over the calm sound waters.
- The Kids & Family Eco-Tour: A fantastic, educational, and fun daytime cruise that heads toward Monkey Island—a historic bird sanctuary once used as Native American hunting grounds.
Wildlife, History, and Hidden Views
Because this 2-hour cruise explores the pristine, shallow waters of the Currituck Sound, you will experience a side of Corolla that you simply cannot see from the land. Your local captain will share fascinating historical trivia and point out the incredible local wildlife along the way.
Be sure to keep your cameras ready! Guests frequently spot:
- Dolphins playing in the sound
- Osprey, Bald Eagles, and nesting coastal birds around Monkey Island
- Corolla’s legendary wild Spanish Mustangs grazing along the northern shorelines
Planning Your Tiki Cruise: Good to Know
- Perfect for Everyone: The tiki boat holds up to 30 guests, making it perfect for families, couples, wedding parties, or bachelorette groups. Plus, there is no minimum age requirement, so even the youngest travelers are welcome aboard!
- What to Bring: Bring along a small six-pack-sized cooler with your favorite drinks and snacks, plenty of sunscreen, a camera, and a light jacket or sweatshirt in case the evening sound breeze gets cool.
- Location: The boat departs from historic Corolla Village, located at 1118 Corolla Village Road, Corolla, NC. Since parking in the village is limited, we highly recommend carpooling or walking over if you are nearby!
- When to Arrive: Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure to complete waivers and check in.
